Blue Jays Fall to White Sox, 4-3 Chicago pitcher Shane Smith had a large part in his team beating the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The White Sox saw their win-loss record go to 74-76. At the same time, the Blue Jays fell to 69-83. Chase Meidroth, who is tied for 7th in the AL with a .382 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Meidroth contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the seventh inning to put Chicago up, 4-1. "You never take a win for granted in this league," said Meidroth.
